Howdy Partner! I went to Austin last month with two of my childhood besties for a long weekend of relaxation, spa treatments and fun. We’re all exhausted working moms and we basically flew 1200 miles to sleep- it was glorious! #SLEEPCATION Lake Austin Resort and Spa is consistently ranked as one of the top 10 spa resorts and wellness retreats in the US. If you’re looking for a beautiful place to unwind, consider this gem and check out my Austinerary (see what I did there!?!) Thursday:
We all flew in from different cities in Cali and made our way to the resort. Once we checked in we were given hot tea and a tour of the stunning property. Then it was time to WINE-d down (clearly I think I’m hilarious over here). Dinner was fresh, flavorful and healthy. The great thing about this resort is that all your meals are included and they can accommodate any dietary restrictions. (Mostly plant based, but occasionally eats fish and dairy? YUP. They’ve got you covered) After we all got tipsy on California Pinots, we headed back to our room and enjoyed even more wine in our private hot tub. Perfect way to ease into the weekend. It’s worth noting that this resort is robe friendly! What does that mean you ask? You can wear your robe EVERYWHERE; to eat, to wander, to relax by the pool. There’s such a mellow, calm vibe and I loved living that robe life.
FRIDAY
9am: WE SLEPT IN. Miracles do happen friends! Never stop believing. We enjoyed a light breakfast before our workout. This particular day was overcast with light rain- very appropriate to set the mood for a chill time.
11am: Cycling class with a lake view. We even listened to country music while exercising- that was a first for me Y’ALL!
12:30pm: Lunch at the gorgeous spa. The spa is gorgeous. Oh wait, I already said that. But for real, it’s so pretty and has everything; full steam, sauna, hot tub, relaxation lounge, soft robes, comfy slippers, friendly staff and incredible services.
1:30pm: Stop. Pamper Time. We checked in for our treatments, steamed and indulged in Ginger Renewal Body Scrubs. I haven’t been that clean in a looong time.
4:30pm: Wine and cheese cruise around the lake. It was such a treat to explore the lake and scope out the multi-million dollar mansions along the way. Shout out to Cameron for being the best tour guide!
6pm: Light dinner in the main dining area, followed by more wine.
8pm: Magnesium Massage. Do you hate me yet? I got ANOTHER massage. I really was living my best life. Apparently we are all deprived of magnesium and this treatment helps infuse it back into your body. It also just felt really really amazing.
SATURDAY:
9am: Light breaky and a healing sound massage. Is there a better way to start a Saturday? (hint- no!) With all the crazy and unique beauty treatments I’ve done in my life, I can’t believe I’d never tried any sound therapy. I loved it and will definitely do it again.
12pm: Lunch in the main dining area where we enjoyed the beautiful views again. I never got tired of seeing the glimmering lake.
2:30pm: Rode bikes on the water. This was a first! I love trying new things and riding my bike on the lake was awesome. I’d actually never seen these kind of bikes before- they were super sturdy and easy to maneuver. (You’d have to be pretty bad to fall in)
6pm: We wanted at least one night to rage in downtown Austin (duh). We took a water taxi down the lake for our big moms night out. Between the three of us we received a ton of recommendations on where to drink, eat, dance, play and have a blast. It was our goal to hit up as many places as possible and have maximize our fun. We had drinks at Lucilles, oysters and cocktails at Perlas, Queso Fundido at El Alma and country music at the White Horse. Clearly we were on a mission! Needless to say, we had a wild night before we hopped in an uber for the trek back to the resort.
Sunday:
We slept in past 8am! With a slight hungover, I was reminded why I hardly ever drink…. UGH. Before we knew it, it was time to pack up and hit the road. In case you couldn’t tell by now, I loved Austin!
I’ll be doing a full video recap on my YT channel in the next few weeks. Stay tuned.
