As some of you may know I’ve always been obsessed with trying beauty treatments that are new, weird, crazy, scary, painful, awkward, foreign.. I can go on. After years of experimenting (Birdsh*t facial from Japan, Hammam Hopping in Istanbul, Fish Pedicures in Thailand) I finally have a partner in crime who is up for the same adventures as I am. Allow me to introduce you to my girl Susan Yara. It is with extreme happiness that I announce a brand new show that I’m co-hosting with her. She shares my love for bizarre beauty and together there isn’t anything we won’t try! Check out the trailer for our new series below which will be released on Mixed Makeup in Febuary. We’re also looking for a name… Have any ideas?? Leave them below the video! If we choose your name you will receive a SICK box of beauty goodies. CAN’T WAIT!!!!
My family and I were fortunate enough to ring in 2015 at one of our favorite resorts in America, The Broadmoor located in beautiful Colorado Springs. It’s a historic, luxurious hotel with an endless amount of things to do, places to eat, drink and and a fabulous spa to get your pamper on. Even though I’ve been there 3 times in the last two years I find new activities with each visit and there is still so much more to see. The Broadmoor is constantly evolving, updating and expanding. Below are some highlights from our trip that included seeing the property covered in fresh white snow, the stunning spa, and a few glimpses of the food. Did I mention there are seven killer restaurants on the property! Michael and I were also invited to a lux private party held at the beautiful Penrose room to ring in the new year. We had a seven course meal with wine pairings, so yeah, we were pretty excited about that.
I hope you enjoyed the pictures. The Broadmoor truly is one of my favorite places to visit. The service is spectacular, the property is breathtaking and there is no shortage of things to do for couples, friends, or families. Every season offers up a new kind of beauty and activities. Want to see more!?! Watch our family vlog!
Have a great week everyone!
P.S. For those asking on Instagram the lip color I was rocking was Butter Lip Balm from NYX in Red Velvet with Cherry liner from MAC.
Oh hi bloggy that I have neglected SO MUCH this past month. Oopsies. I’ve been super busy filming a bunch of exciting new content for my channel and The Mom’s View. I also have a new series I’m co-hosting on Mixed Makeup in February, so GET EXCITED for that! More details coming soon. In the meantime you can watch the latest Mom’s View where the ladies and I sit down with Soleil Moon Frye to hear about her adorable crafts that are perfect for entertaining your little ones. Hope you enjoy the episode!
A MASSIVE, HUGE, GIGANTIC THANK YOU to everyone for helping me make this year so AWESOME! I love you all to bits and I hope you have a happy and safe new year!
Happy Monday! Hope you all had an awesome Thanksgiving. I just realized it’s been a almost two weeks since my last update on here. Yikes. #BadSharzad I’m still trying to figure out that balance between motherhood, working on all my projects, being sane and more importantly showering! We have been BUSY the last two weeks visiting family in Chicago and the Bay Area. We’re back in LA and ready for to tackle this month. (Oh hi December) Baby Idris was grandma hopping all over the country and below are some snaps from our adventures in chilly Chicago (it was 18 when we landed!) to the Bay.
Yesterday was like a dream. I spent the day with an awesome crew and my son at a private house on one of my favorite beaches in Malibu. Hi perfect. Here are some behind the scenes pics for our Mom’s View holiday video. I CAN’T WAIT until it’s live. Just a quick reminder to go after your dreams NOW (like today!) because your future self will thank you ; )
Special thanks to my girl Alana for snapping some more pics of me and Idris. Coincidentally this is the same beach that we shot my maternity photos.
Have a great day!
Hello Thursday! Things have been so cray cray the past few days with work and I’m still trying to get settled in my new house and I’m trying to raise a decent human. How do people balance everything without the help of meth!?! Don’t worry, I’m not on meth, just wishful thinking. SO back to my jam-packed week. On Tuesday I was invited to speak on a fashion and business panel about how to work with brands and get paid. I loved sharing the stage with my fellow online movers and shakers. We’re all in similar industries but earn our money in completely unique ways, and I love hearing about how they get their hustle on. Speaking of hustle, yesterday I was asked to join a live cooking hangout with Ana Gasteyer, Laura Vitale and Weight Watchers. Just go ahead and pinch me. I cyber hung out with someone from SNL!?! Is this real lyfe? (Can we say shweddy balls!?!) Below are a few snaps from the madness and my latest episode of The Mom’s View. Enjoy!
Hello from cold Chicago! A few months back I had the pleasure of chatting with one of my favorite women, Susan Yara. Susan has had a very exciting career working as a beauty host for some major companies. (She was actually the first beauty host I watched and subsequently met in person…and then stalked obsessively over the years…) Her most exciting new venture is the launch of her new company/YouTube channel called Mixed Makeup. You NEED to check it out. The quality and content is perfection AND she has big names like Catt Sadler with segments on her channel. I was so flattered when she asked little old me to share some tips on how to grow your youtube channel. We had a blast filming the fun and informative video below. Enjoy!
I’m thrilled that I can add detective to my resume. In my latest adventure I’m a K.I.D (Kid Interrogation Detective) aka Detective Sharzad. It’s not an easy job but this new mama is trying to find out what kids love by interrogating them. Enjoy!

I truly can’t believe it’s been three years since I started my online journey! When I began my blog my makeup career was in a transitional place and I knew I no longer wanted to do it professionally. I longed for something more exciting….but I wasn’t sure what or how or when. In high school I wanted to host a show (specifically one like Wild on E!) and somehow along the way that dream seemed like it would never come to fruition. Doing makeup allowed me to be part of the exciting world of entertainment without really putting myself out there… but it wasn’t my true passion. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE the beauty industry, but I wanted to be on camera! It took me a really long time to admit that to myself.
I am so thankful EVERYDAY that I started chasing my dreams when I did. I can’t imagine not doing what I do. It’s opened up doors and opportunities I truly only dreamed about. I’m not trying to toot my own horn, I’m trying to encourage people to go after what they want. There is a saying in farsi “Whenever you get the fish out of the water, it’s fresh” basically to me that means that no matter where you are in your life, it’s not to late to start something new and go after what you want.
I love my job and have worked harder than ever. I have no clue where I will be next year or in five years and that’s what is so exciting about what I do. There are endless possibilities and the sky truly is the limit.
I want to take a minute to say a sincere THANK YOU to everyone who has followed my online journey with me. Without your support I wouldn’t be able to do what I do.
Last thing before I end my rant- I am giving away ONE ticket to come hear me speak on October 7th in LA with a ton of other major movers and shakers online. To qualify, just send me an email telling me what your dream job is and why you want the ticket. It’s that simple. I will pick a winner by Friday!

*Must be able to get to Los Angeles! I can’t fly anyone in yet… sorry! One day!
