I always jump at the chance to try something new (and crazy) so when I heard about this workout in Santa Monica that involves a heated pod, obviously I got really excited and immediately had to check it out. The video below gives you a quick glimpse of this popular new health and fitness facility that is changing the way women are getting tight and toned! P.S. It’s called Iobella. Take a look.
Reason number 367 that I love LA: the variety of awesome workouts available here continually blow my mind. A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to experience the latest in the LA exercise scene; a Moulin Rouge inspired barre workout, taught by a former Moulin Rouge dancer of course. Strengthening and toning are much more fun when there are boas involved. Trust me on that one. The class I took is offered every Sunday at 12pm at Xtend Barre in West Hollywood. Check out the website for more deets and get out there and release your inner ShowGirl #LeMeow

Happy Workout Wednesday friends! I recently headed down to the adorable Coronado Island in San Diego to film a fun workout video with one of my favorite ladies, Victoria Adelus. Victoria is an IFBB Pro figure athlete and a great friend (oh hi 15+ years of friendship!). In recent years she has not only transformed her own body, but she has made it her mission to help people achieve their own personal fitness goals. Check out the video below where Victoria showcases 4 great booty exercises that can be done anywhere.
Ingredients: Use approximately 6-8 Persian cucumbers, 1 1/2 cups mini tomatoes, 1 small sweet onion, 1 bell pepper, 1 bunch of mint, 2 bunches of parsley. For the “dressing” you need 3 lemons, 2 ounces olive oil , 1 ounce goat cheese and salt and pepper to taste. Chop up the veggies, squeeze the lemons into the salad, add olive oil, salt and pepper, sprinkle with goat cheese and enjoy!
Yeah, I did it. It was awesome. It’s been a week and my arms are still sore. I can’t wait to do it again. Watch my video to see me in action.
April is sexual assault awareness month and in honor of that I asked my friend Jennifer Cassetta to do an ass kicking (more like groin bashing) demo for us. She has some awesome tips on how to protect yourself if you are ever caught in a compromising situation. Learn, enjoy, and please be safe out there friends!
Not only is Jennifer a self defense guru, creator of Stilettos and Self Defense DVD’s, a nutritionist, a master in Hapkido, a fitness expert AND a health freak, she was recently on the Today Show (no biggie). Check out the footage below!
Flounder is not a fish I ever paid much attention to, (I think it has something to do with the Little Mermaid) but when I saw this recipe, and figured out how low-cal/healthy it was, I couldn’t resist trying it. The fresh ingredients and the crispiness of the fish proved to be the perfect combination of flavors and textures. It could not have been more easy to prepare and it was surprisingly inexpensive. It will definitely become a staple in my house now.
I’m always looking for new healthy recipes, so feel free to share!
I’m not one to ever turn down an opportunity to try something new, so when a friend invited me to the “Mud Run” I immediately said yes! I had heard of this type of race before, and I’d seen pics on peoples’ fb pages. I knew it was only a matter of time before I participated in one myself. Little did I know what I was in for!
After convincing Michael to drive over an hour to run through mud (he seemed to think there were better ways to spend a Saturday), we finally made it to Irvine Lake (which is beautiful btw). Much to our surprise, we were met by a rowdy, wild, costume-wearing crowd, who were ready to party. Then I started to notice the people DRENCHED in mud, and I got scared. Would that be us!?
I put my fears aside and hit the ground (or should I say MUD) running! Within seconds we had mud up to our knees, and by the first mile we had it up to our waist. There were obstacle courses, mud mountains, mud slides (unfortunately not the drinks!) and then mud row: quick sand meets mud. I lost my shoes, fell down and got mud in places where there should NEVER be mud.
